Trick or Treating in Groesbeck Saturday

OCTOBER 31 - 6-9 PM - Trick or Treating will occur in Groesbeck. Halloween, specifically Trick or Treating, has not been "canceled" by the City of Groesbeck.  Trick or treating is a time-honored, community tradition in Groesbeck but, as always, residents are free to decide whether or not they participate. Given the nature of 2020 and the wild ride it's been, the City understands more residents than usual may decide to opt-out of Halloween activities this year.  The universal sign for those residences not participating in trick or treating is the porch light being off so if you encounter a residence with lights out, please pass it up.  Whether you're going door-to-door or handing out candy, please take whatever precautions you feel are necessary to ensure your health and safety. The CDC and various other sites have articles online that offer advice and suggestions to those engaging in Halloween activities.

Kosse

The City of Kosse will be hosting its annual Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 31 from 6-8 p.m. This year they have included several activities for ghouls and goblins to participate in as well as the obvious costume and candy glory!

The Kosse Heritage Society will host a pumpkin carving contest as well as a spine tingling story contest. Pumpkin entries can be delivered to the Kosse City office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, October 30, or from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 31. They will use the entries to decorate the downtown area for the Trunk or Treat and prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Entries for the scary story contest can be submitted from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on October 31 or to a marked booth during the Trunk or Treat. Winners of the Scary Story contest will be published in the Kosse Cyclone section of the Groesbeck Journal the following week, along with their story. Please include the name and age of the author for the Scary Story entries.

Attendees can also enter the “Tunnel of Terror” if they are brave enough to face ghosts and monsters to reach the end! Come join the fun with your little ones.
