Limestone County to shelter in place

Limestone County officials recently announced a shelter in place order Tuesday, March 31. The order will become effective at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, April 2.

"We have now been informed of our third positive case with four and five around the corner," County Judge Richard Duncan said. "Although most businesses will fall under the essential category, I feel we must be able to say we have done all we can do."

Essential businesses will remain open, meaning that most across the county will maintain hours. Citizens across the county are still free to shop for groceries, seek health services, enjoy parks in groups less than 10 and travel.

"Every day we are in touch with people at the state trying to get supplies for our first responders. I would like to commend our first responders for all they do," Duncan said. "We are planning and trying to be proactive. Please keep safe distances."
