Air ambulances take Hwy. 14 wreck victims to hospital
Air ambulances were called to the scene of a serious wreck on the afternoon of Thursday, June 10 on Highway 14, about 2 miles north of Groesbeck, near the entrance to the Ridgewood Park subdivision.
Three vehicles were involved in the wreck. A Ford Escape crashed into the rear of a Ford F-150 turning onto LCR 402 pushing that vehicle into the northbound lanes of Hwy 14, where it was struck head-on by a Ford F-350. All occupants of each vehicle were transported by air to surrounding hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to DPS Sgt. Ryan Howard.
The traffic on Highway 14 was backed up for an extended period.
Several Department of Public Safety troopers were processing the scene, and DPS says an official report is due to be filed Wednesday, June 16.
Also responding were Limestone County deputies, Groesbeck Volunteer Fire Department trucks, a Shiloh Volunteer Fire Department pickup truck, a Limestone Medical Center EMS Unit and a Mexia EMS Unit.
Distracted driving is believed the be a factor in the crash.
