County Fair and Livestock Show Dedicated to the Gray’s

The 2024 Limestone County Fair and Livestock Show was dedicated toward ‘The Grays’ -  a power couple that loves the Fairgrounds and bringing smiles to the youth of our county.

The Limestone County Fair Association (LCFA) announced earlier in the year that the 2024 Limestone County Fair would be dedicated to Arnold and Penny Gray.

The Grays, who have been serving their community for decades, have been instrumental in the growth and success of the Limestone County Fairgrounds.

Arnold Gray, a veteran of the United States Army, has served his community by sitting on several boards and attaining membership in several civic groups. He was recently awarded the Congressional Veteran's Commendation award, which was presented by Congressman Sessions on Veteran's Day of 2023. Mr. Gray has been a board member and superintendent of Ag Mechanics at LCFA for 15 years, and he is also a founder who helped to build the Limestone County Fairgrounds.

Penny Gray is a force to be reckoned with, having worked in the medical field for several years. She has worked in rural hospitals, and at large hospitals for labor and delivery, she taught nursing in college, worked in home health, and was in the administrative offices of St. Joseph Hospital (750 beds) in downtown Houston. She worked for several years as a Medicare surveyor. Mrs. Gray accepted the position of Administrator/CEO of Limestone Medical Center and has served the community since 1996.

The Grays started supporting the youth projects in the early 1980s, buying from both the Young Farmers and the Limestone County Livestock Show annually.

They have been a package deal, with Mr. Gray serving as the official board member and Mrs. Gray doing the books and being the brains behind the Treasurer's position for the association (LCFA). The Grays made friends within the community as weekenders and became permanent citizens of Limestone County in 1996.

LCFA is honored to dedicate the 2024 fair to Arnold and Penny Gray for their dedicated service to the community.

The Gray’s have been in attendance for the entirety of Limestone County Fair Week, including all livestock shows, judging of the Go Texan Cookoff, and the LCFA Fair Kick-off concert,

They are instrumental in the growth and success of the fairgrounds, and their contribution to the youth projects has been immeasurable. The dedication is a well-deserved recognition of their invaluable service, and the fair board is proud to honor them.
