General Election now less than one week away

Here’s a review of the ballot

The 2020 general election is now less than one week away with the election being on Tuesday, November 3.

This year’s general election will involve the election of the president of the United States of America and also many other important positions. The general election will include elections on the federal, state, and county levels.

The Groesbeck Independent School District and the City of Mexia will also have races on the ballot for those areas.

Stories in regard to early voting and also a list of voting places in Limestone County will be found in this week’s Journal.

Abbreviations on the ballot for the various political parties are as follows: Republican Party (REP); Democratic Party (DEM); Libertarian Party (LIB); Green Party (GRN).

Federal Elections on the ballot are as follows:

President/Vice-President -- Donald J. Trump, Michael P. Pence (Rep); Joseph R. Biden, Kamala Harris (Dem); Jo Jorgensen/Jeremy “Spike” Cohen (Lib); Howie Harris, Angela Walker (GM).

United States Senator -- John Cornyn (Rep), Marky “MJ” Hegar (Dem), Kerry Douglas (Lib), David B. Collins (Gm).
