7:05 a.m. Sgt. Bell to 700 block South Ellis for reported unoccupied vehicle in the ditch. Vehicle was located and the driver contacted. Arrangements made with tow company to remove vehicle per owner’s request.

10:11 a.m. Sgt. Bell to 400 block North Leon for reported criminal trespass notice request. The complainant requested that the resident be served with criminal trespass notice. Referred to justice court for eviction proceedings.

1:25 p.m. Sgt. Bell to 600 block Walker for reported vehicle fire. Determined to be street repair equipment and fire was extinguished prior to arrival.

5:40 p.m. Sgt. Bell to undisclosed address for reported suicide attempt. The complainant reported engaging in text conversation with someone found through a dating website. Complainant believed person attempted suicide and then requested money for medical costs. Determined to be scam activity.

8:20 p.m. Officer Pantalici to 400 block South Ellis for reported theft. The complainant reported theft of items by an unfamiliar customer. Investigation initiated.

9:35 p.m. Officer Pantalici to undisclosed address for requested assistance by Child Protective Services.

September 1, 2020

1:10 a.m. Officer Pantalici to 900 block North Tyus for reported disturbance. Determined to be verbal only. Resolved on scene.

8:41 a.m. Officer Cardenas to 500 block East Yeagua for reported fraudulent activity. The complainant reported observing an elderly citizen buying multiple $500 gift cards and believed they may have been victims of scam activity. Reported person left prior to officer arrival. Investigation initiated.

1:00 p.m. Officer Kiser to the police department for reported fraudulent activity. The complainant reported unauthorized charges on debit card. Investigation initiated.

2:50 p.m. Officer Cardenas to 100 block North Tucker for reported disturbance. Determined to be verbal only. Resolved on scene.

3:45 p.m. Officer Kiser to the police department for a reported criminal trespass notice request. The complainant requested criminal trespass notice be served on the second party. Notice executed.

6:40 p.m. Cpl. Hobbs to 400 block South Ellis for a reported business alarm. Determined to be an accidental trigger by an employee. No offense.

8:00 p.m. Cpl. Hobbs to 200 block East Navasota for reported civil issue. The complainant reported receiving parcels for another address. Resident instructed to return to the post office.

9:05 p.m. Cpl. Hobbs to 100 block North Grayson for reported suspicious activity. Complainant reported a known person driving repeatedly by complainant’s residence.

September 2, 2020

5:40 a.m. Cpl. Hobbs to 800 block West Trinity for reported residential alarm. Determined to be a false alarm. No emergency.

12:04 p.m. Officer Cardenas to 500 block West State for reported animal concern. The complainant reported dogs in the backyard of a residence with standing water due to a storm. The homeowner located and relocated animals.

4:23 p.m. Officer Martin to 300 block South Houston for reported reckless driver. The complainant reporting a person on moped speeding through the area. Unable to locate the reported person.

11:35 p.m. Cpl. Hobbs to 500 block North Dallas for agency assistance. GVFD requested assistance with a medical call pending EMS arrival.

11:51 p.m. Officer Martin to 500 block East Yeagua for a reported 911 call. The 911 call was received indicating a person asking for help behind business. Unable to locate anyone in the area.

September 3, 2020

8:32 a.m. Sgt. Bell to 400 block East Navasota for reported 911 open line. Met with a resident. No emergency. Determined to be weather related.

11:29 a.m. Sgt. Bell to 400 block South Houston for reported harassment. The complainant reported a former significant other knocking on the door. Complainant refused to meet with the officer upon arrival.

11:48 a.m. Sgt. Bell to 600 block Parkside Drive for reported criminal mischief. The complainant reported known suspects leaving a dead animal near the complainant’s front door. Suspects identified and cited.

4:15 p.m. Officer Martin to 500 block South Leon for reported missing property. The complainant reported being unable to find a wallet.

7:42 p.m. Officer Martin to a reported reckless driver. Unable to locate the reported vehicle.

September 4, 2020

3:20 p.m. Sgt. Bell to 100 block East Navasota for a reported suspicious person. The complainant reported observing a person walking with a handgun. Located the reported person and determined no offense committed.

4:13 p.m. Sgt. Bell to 500 block South Leon for reported theft. Complainant previously contacted police for theft committed by a family member but did not want to pursue investigation at the time. Complainant now wants to pursue a case. Investigation initiated.

September 5, 2020

3:21 p.m. Officer Cardenas to 600 block North Grayson for a reported civil issue. The complainant reported dispute over property. Resolved on scene.

4:30 p.m. Officer Martin to Frost Street for a reported reckless driver. The complainant reported vehicle speeding and spinning tires in the neighborhood. Unable to locate the reported vehicle.

6:35 p.m. Cpl. Hobbs to call complainant for reported civil issue. The complainant reported issues with obtaining personal property from another residence.

9:00 p.m. Officer Martin to 700 block West Trinity for a reported juvenile complaint. The complainant reported unlicensed juvenile operating a motor vehicle. The juvenile reportedly was going to a location outside city limits. Notified other agencies.

10:45 p.m. Officer Martin to 1100 block Frost for reported disturbance. The complainant reported being previously threatened by a second party. Call was unfounded.

September 6, 2020

12:20 a.m. Cpl. Hobbs to 700 block West Jacinto for reported drug activity. The complainant reported being approached by an unknown person requesting information on obtaining narcotics. Vehicle and suspect description provided. Reported person later located. No contraband or illegal narcotics located.

10:42 a.m. Officer Cardenas to 300 block West Sabine for reported crash. Caller reported a vehicle crash on SH 14 North but cell phone location indicated 300 block West Sabine. Believed to be children playing on inactive cell phones.

12:18 p.m. Officer Cardenas to city park for a reported downed tree and bee swarm. The complainant reported a tree being down in the park and bees swarming nearby. City park closed until the issue was resolved.

1:10 p.m. Officer Cardenas to call complainant for reported civil issue. The complainant requested officer presence on scene while property removed from residence. Civil standby not provided. The officer remained in the area in event of breach of peace.

3:07 p.m. Officer Cardenas to 800 block West Sabine for reported disturbance. Determined to be civil disagreement over property. Resolved on scene.

4:24 p.m. Officer Cardenas to 700 block Walker for a reported welfare concern. The complainant reported elderly unknown male walking in the area. Located reported person and determined to be okay. No offense.

8:40 p.m. Cpl. Hobbs to 100 block West Navasota for reported welfare concern. The complainant reported concern for a second party. Reported party located and determined to be okay. No offense.

10:50 p.m. Cpl. Hobbs to 400 block East Jacinto for reported shots fired. The complainant reported possible shots from a vehicle. Vehicle located and no weapons found.
