Groesbeck Car Show Successful

65 entries total in show, many awards given

The 23rd Annual Groesbeck Lions Club Car Show, which was held last Saturday at the Groesbeck City Park, was another very big success.

Sixty-five cars, trucks, and motorcycles were entered in the show. These sixty-five cars, trucks, and motorcycles were entered in various categories in the show.

The annual Car Show is one of the major fundraisers for the Groesbeck Lions Club. For many years the Groesbeck Lions Club has sponsored or help to sponsor many worthwhile activities in the community.

A special guest was Angela Cases, the incoming District Governor of District 2X3 with the Groesbeck Lions Club being an active member of District 2X3. The Incoming District Governor Cases participated in the presentation of the various awards.

Sharon Fredriksson is currently the president of the Groesbeck Lions Club and presided from time to time during the show and also participated in the presentation of the awards. Brett Beene was the general manager of the show. Many members of the Lions Club were busy during the day attending to various activities.

A very big thank you is extended by the Club to the KnotToday Band under the direction of Bob Bosch. The members of the Knot-Today devoted their time last Saturday to entertain the Car Show crowd with some great music.

Also, the Groesbeck Masonic Lodge had some great food for sale for the folks at the Car Show.

The Groesbeck Lions Club also wants to thank the many Car Show sponsors for their support and contributions.

Outstanding Engine -- Kristi Middlebrook -- 2016 Dodge Challenger.

Outstanding Interior --Henry Laderach -- 1941 Ford Delux Coup.

Outstanding Paint -- Michael Anderson --1969 Chevy Camaro.

Best GM -- Bill & Peggy Green -- 1955 Chevy Nomad.

Best Ford -- Jesse Coulter -- 1967 Ford.

Best Mopar -- Craig & Pam Ouhoa -- 2013 Dodge Challenger.

People’s Choice -- Bill & Peggy Green -- 1955 Chevy Nomad.

Kid’s Choice -- Becky Reed -- 1957 Chevy Bel Air.

Best Club -- HOT Old Car Club.

Ray Forrester was the winner of the Savage Axis .223 Rifle with Scope with Black Synthetic Stock and case.
