Guitar recovered after burglary

On Friday, July 9, 2021, Officer Brad Martin responded to the 400 block of West Sabine Street for a reported burglary of a building.

The complainant reported checking their building, which was a former church, and seeing signs of someone having been in the building. Upon closer inspection, the complainant observed several items missing from the building including a guitar.

Officer Martin recalled another burglary case worked by Corporal Hobbs on June 28, 2021. That case involved finding a male inside a vacant rental property. That suspect was arrested on scene and was in possession of a guitar.

Officer Martin was able to obtain a photograph of that guitar and the complainant positively identified it as one of the items missing from the complainant’s building.

The guitar was recovered from the suspect’s property and returned to its rightful owner.
