Goat Quarterback Allen Lewis is shown being consoled by his mother, Rhonda after a hard loss against Whitney last Friday night. For the second consecutive year, the Groesbeck football team’s season ended in the bi-district round of the playoffs. The Goats came away with no points and were shut out by the Wildcats 14-0. Disaster struck for the Goats shortly after the half when quarterback Allen Lewis was being spun down to the ground for a two-yard loss when Whitney’s Jordan Newton leveled him with a helmetto-helmet hit that left Lewis lying on the turf causing him to be eventually helped up and to the sideline but he did not return to the game. Groesbeck finishes its season with an 8-3 record.
