Introducing Racheal Clark to the Journal

The Groesbeck Journal is happy to introduce our newest reporter, Racheal Clark.

Clark is originally from Fairfield, she began her educational path at Groesbeck High School during her freshman year but graduated from Wortham High School in 2009. Following high school, she ventured to the University of North Texas for a year, where she pursued a degree in photojournalism before eventually leaving her studies and relocating to Waco, where she worked in the service industry until 2019.

In early 2019, Racheal decided to return to Groesbeck, reigniting her academic pursuits. Within just one year of focused effort, she earned an associate degree from MCC. Her passion for theater led her to spend an additional year at MCC, actively participating in all four productions during that time. Subsequently, she transferred to Texas Tech University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in communications.

She holds ambitious goals for her future, aiming to utilize her degree to become a high school theater and speech teacher, a pursuit she ardently follows. Concurrently, she eagerly pursues her writing career here at the Journal.

Racheal’s zest for education and writing is rivaled only by her love for reading and travel. She is an avid reader, devouring over 200 books annually, and a dedicated traveler, often journeying through the pages of her books. She has also been fortunate to explore realworld destinations such as Ireland, Scotland, London, and Paris in recent times.

In addition to her academic and literary pursuits, Racheal is a familiar face at local football games, where she passionately cheers on the Goats. Her support extends to her niece, a dedicated member of the color guard, making these Friday night outings a cherished family tradition.

Racheal currently calls Groesbeck home, residing in what some affectionately refer to as the ‘holiday house.’ Here, her sister’s elaborate decorations transform the space into a festive wonderland for both Halloween and Christmas. Racheal shares this cozy abode with her sister, niece, three cats, and a loyal, somewhat goofy German Shepherd.

The Groesbeck Journal welcomes not just a reporter but a multi-talented individual whose journey has led her through various life experiences.

“From her formative years in Groesbeck to her academic endeavors at MCC and Texas Tech, Racheal’s determination and passion shine through,” said Jennifer Paul, Groesbeck Journal General Manager. “As she embarks on this new chapter with us at the Journal, we eagerly anticipate the fresh perspectives and compelling stories Racheal will bring to our readers. She is not just a new reporter; she is a vibrant addition to our team, and we are excited to witness her flourish in her role and in her pursuit of excellence.”
