Jellystone Park coming to Groesbeck

A new option for familyfriendly entertainment comes with the announcement of Jellystone Park coming to Groesbeck. The park is currently under construction two miles outside of Groesbeck on FM 2489. Currently, the park is estimated to open June of this year.

Groesbeck City council voted Tuesday, Jan 21, and approved the sale of water and sewer utilities outside city limits to Randy Sims. Sims addressed the council on the new project and his needs from the city.

“This park is going to be on 486 acres, will have 150 RV sites, 9 cabins, and a 7-acre pond with water attractions,” stated Sims. “I will have my own water wells to operate the park but need the approval of water delivery for human consumption in the park from the council.”

After a detailed discussion, the council unanimously approved to sell water and sewer outside city limits.

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts are a franchise network of campgrounds with the mission of providing great family vacations. The property invites guests to make memories with beautiful country glamping on 500 acres. Featured amenities will include cabins, cable, pool, pull-thrus, tents, Wi-Fi and more.

The official name will be Waco East Jellystone Park. More information and featured articles on Jellystone Park will be in future issues as well as full coverage of the council meeting in next week’s Journal.
