Limestone County Judge Richard Duncan speaks to the Limestone Co. Conservatives
Limestone County Judge Richard Duncan was the speaker for the August meeting of the Limestone Conservatives on Tuesday night, August 18, at Austin’s Steakhouse in Kosse. John McCarver called the meeting to order.
The Judge briefly discussed the recent increase of the coronavirus in Limestone County. He discussed the virus as related to the Limestone County Detention Center and Jail.
The Judge encouraged property owners to render their property values. He stated he hoped to reduce spending in the county government. He pointed out that some departments in the county governments are over budget.
Judge Duncan stated, “Good things are happening in Limestone County. It is hoped to reduce the county tax rate.”
The Judge stated that the wind turbines being installed in some parts of Limestone County should have a very positive influence on the upcoming tax years.
Judge Duncan gave updates on various county agencies and departments.
The Judge stated that a good job is being done on the 2020 census in Limestone County. He stressed the importance of the census for Limestone County.
The importance of the November 3rd general election on all levels of governments was pointed out. Everyone should make sure that they are registered to vote. Remember, the old saying that a November general election affects the government all the way from “The Courthouse to the White House”.
