LMC Foundation plans fundraiser to beef up support for hospital

The LMC Foundation is holding a raffle to raise funds to further its mission, and there are two prizes: a side of a processed steer each.

Arnold and Penny Gray, of Running G Ranch, have donated a steer that will be raffled during the months of November and December. This steer has been grass fed and will be held on the Running G Ranch until Dec. 21.

A side of beef can be of great benefit to the two winners. It is a chance to put quality meat in your freezer for a very small donation. Tickets will be sold by board members beginning the week of Oct. 26, through the day of the drawing, Dec. 21.

Tickets may also be purchased at Farmer’s State Bank and Limestone Medical Center. Single tickets are available for a $20 donation or six tickets for a $100 donation.

The LMC Foundation was created in 2006 to support Limestone Medical Center in providing optimum health care services to the people of Limestone County and beyond. Through endowments and donations, the board has proudly been able to provide millions of dollars’ worth of equipment to support the hospital and clinics under the auspices of Limestone Medical Center.

The Foundation has purchased ambulances, therapeutic equipment and even furnishings as in the case of the new Kosse Community Health Clinic. These purchases have been made possible through the management of previous endowments and periodic fundraisers to supplement those monies. It is through the generosity of its patrons that the Foundation has been able to continue to work to support quality health care in the area.

Arrangements have been made for the steer that is being raffled to be processed, providing the two sides of beef for the raffle. Each winner will specify the way in which they want their meat cut and wrapped. Transportation to and from the processing plant and all processing fees are included in the prize.

Members of the LMC Foundation Board of Directors include Sharon Fredriksson, Susie and Don Altland, Nathaniel Bedford, Mary Rand, Mike Luke, Martha Stone, Karon Golden and Debbie Williams.
