The Thornton Seniors met again with twenty-one present for lunch and bingo. Those present were Janice Bilbrey site manager, Ann Brown, Snuffy Bennett, Lorene Stembridge, Jo Ann Archer, Karen Bess, Roger and Sharon Watson, Wilma Lee, Wayne Sharp, Gay Ann McBride, Loris Lemley, James Lenamond, Sheryl Davis, Glinda Bertrand, Ginny Murphy, Elizabeth Neason, Elle, and Hank Staniszewski, Gayla Lind and myself. We welcomed Karen Bess and Ginny Murphy as two new members to our group and are so proud to have them. Sorry that Alma McCurry and Mr. Earl Mask were both ill and couldn’t make it and we hope they will be back in good health with us next week.

Kosse Council to improve police parking security and lighting

At their meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 8, the Kosse City Council took steps to better serve and protect the department that serves and protects the city: the police department. After approving a change to the pay schedule, which included incentive pay for police officers who complete certifications, council members discussed the department’s recent relocation of police vehicles to the lot beside the volunteer fire department when not in use.
