Justin Reed of the Reed & Reed law firm in Mexia was the speaker for the Groesbeck Lions club. Reed was introduced by Stephen Friday, who served as program chairman for the month of August.
Small nonfarm businesses in 23 Texas counties are now eligible to apply for low‑interest federal disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, announced Director Tanya N. Garfield of SBA’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West. These loans offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by drought in the following primary counties that began June 21, 2022.

Throughout the ages, our forefathers – and foremothers too – have been told that certain things bring bad luck. As a kid, I always heard “If you step on a crack, you’ll break your mother’s back.” I’m relieved to report that although I accidentally stepped on several cracks, Mom led a long and backache-free life.
