The Way We Were

As I ponder the situation of the world, I clearly see the path we have taken is one of self-loathing and selfdestruction. So you ask, how in the cornbread hell did we ever get so displaced from the reality of what is and what is to come? We as a nation declared our independence from Britain on July 4th, 1776, and became a sovereign nation. From then until now we collectively built a Union of States that thrived based on the constitution of the United States of America. Our country was made by strong men and women of all colors, creeds, religions, and nationalities who braved pioneer hardships, civil war, two world wars, conflicts in Korea, Vietnam, Panama, and the Middle East and yet still pave the way for freedom and pursuit of happiness.
