Groesbeck ISD cancels classes/activities for Feb. 3-4

Due to the Ice Storm Forecast and Winter Storm Warning predicting ice and sleet along with hazardous road conditions all classes and extra-curricular activities scheduled for Thursday,  February 3 and Friday, February 4, 2022 for Groesbeck ISD have been canceled. Kids Kare  

Academy will also be closed these two days. This decision was made after consulting the GISD  Board of Trustees, Athletic Director Coach Bomar, and consulting the Limestone County  Emergency Management information and National Weather Service Reports. 

After consulting with Coach Bomar, plans for Lady Goat and Goat basketball home games for  Friday evening against Buffalo are canceled. GMS basketball games scheduled for Thursday have been canceled. 

Additional athletic plans are as follows: 

• If possible, Varsity-only games played at home on Saturday, starting at 1:00 pm. Coach  Bomar and/or basketball coaches will announce on Saturday morning if these varsity games will be played. 

• All practices are canceled for Thursday and Friday. 

• Baseball and Softball will not practice on Thursday or Friday but may on Saturday,  dependent on weather conditions. 

Travel to FFA events/contest in San Angelo and Ft. Worth have been canceled. Groesbeck Middle School Play scheduled for Friday, February 4th has been postponed. 

Groesbeck ISD at this time will not move to remote instruction. Due to the arrangement of the  2021-2022 school calendar these two days will not have to be made up. 

At this time, plans are for classes to resume on Monday, February 7, 2022 at regular times with  buses running a normal schedule. Should this change we will announce by Sunday, February 6th 10:00 PM.
