Groesbeck resident dies during house fire

A Groesbeck resident is dead after an early morning house fire in Groesbeck. 

Officials responded to a call for a reported structure fire around 12:34 a.m. on Monday,
May 1 at the 600 block of North Grayson Street. The initial investigation revealed there were three occupants inside the house at the time of the fire. Two occupants were able to escape prior to the home being fully engulfed. Once fire crews were able to extinguish the fire, the third occupant was found and confirmed to be deceased. 

The name of the victim has not been released. 

An investigator from the State Fire Marshal's Office has been on the scene assisting with the investigation according to the Groesbeck Police Chief Chris Henson.

Responding agencies included the Groesbeck Fire Department, the Groesbeck Police Department, the Mexia Fire Department, the Kosse Fire Department, the Thornton Fire Department, the Shiloh Fire Department, the West Lake Limestone Fire Department, the Limestone County Office of Emergency Management, the Limestone County Communications Center, and the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.
