Lisa deCordova named Groesbeck Ex-Students Queen

Lisa deCordova was surprised with the honor of the Ex-Students homecoming queen on Friday, Sept. 15 at Groesbeck 2023 Homecoming.

Lisa deCordova is a graduate of the Groesbeck class of 1973. She is the proud mother of three: daughter Michele and husband Mikey Terry, son Keith and wife JJ Rand, and daughter Nicole and husband Derek Pringle. She is also the proud Nanaw of seven children: Madison Terry, Jake Pringle, Macy Terry, Kylie Rand, Tyson Pringle, Bryce Rand, and angel Mika Terry. Lisa is the daughter of the late Russell and Joan deCordova.

Lisa attended Groesbeck schools from 5th through 12 grade.  In high school, she was very involved.  She played tennis, volleyball, and basketball, was a member of the band, active in the Student Council, and was also a GHS cheerleader.  During her time as a student, Lisa was awarded Most Oustanding Teenager of America, most attractive, was a class favorite, and also served as an editor of the TAOG.  In the fall of her senior year, Lisa was crowned as the GHS Football Sweetheart.

Lisa ran her own wallpapering business in Groesbeck until 1989. In the fall of 1990, Lisa became the assistant to Jim Longbotham for the Groesbeck High School & Junior High tennis teams and worked in this position until 1995 when she would take on employment at the Limestone County District Attorney’s Office until spring of 1999. Later that year, Lisa moved to Dallas to pursue a job as a paralegal at Norton Rose Fulbright, and she worked there until her retirement in May 2018.

Lisa is loved by everyone who knows her, the kids she coached, her co-workers, her friends and, most of all, her family.

She enjoys traveling with her daughters, hens/chicks, and family. In March of 2021, Lisa was able to go on a mother/daughter trip to Hawaii which will always be remembered as one of the most fun times of her life.

She takes pride in all the accomplishments that her kids and grandkids have achieved and is excited about her oldest granddaughter’s upcoming wedding and the addition of a new grandson to her family.

Congratulations, Lisa deCordova, Groesbeck Ex-Students 2023 Queen!
