The Primary will be held this coming Tuesday, March 6. Early voting for the Primary Election will end this Friday. Early voting is being conducted at the Limestone County Courthouse in Groesbeck and the Limestone County Courthouse Annex in Mexia. As of this Monday afternoon, 555 had voted early in Limestone County.
The Primary Election includes both local or county level offices as well as statewide races. The election will include ballots for the Republican Party and the Democratic Party.
County Level Races
Most of the county level races are on the Republican Party ballot, and the candidates are as follows:
County Judge -- Daniel Burkeen, Michelle Latray, Richard Duncan, Mark Roark.
District Clerk -- Carol Jenkins.
County Clerk -- Kerrie Cobb.
County Treasurer -- Carol S. Pickett.
JP Precinct 1 -- Marcus Ray Hanna.
JP Precinct 2 -- Mike Bell (Rep.) and Ray Black (Dem.)
JP Precinct 3 -- Sherri LeNoir.
JP Precinct 4 -- Ray Jones.
Precinct 2 -- Commissioner -- W. A. “Sonny” Baker, Bennie M. Kirven, Andrew W. Taulton, Sr.
Precinct 4 Commissioner --- Bobby Forrest, Larry D. Black, James W. Wiley, Randy Bostain.
Deborah Oakes Evans is running unopposed for reelection to the position of District Judge, 87th Judicial District.
