Seniors can stay cool again

The annual fan drive for homebound seniors of Limestone county wrapped last Thurs., July 2. Billy B’s hosted the event at the cafe’ doors taking final donations of fans and monetary donations towards the cause.

Texas Home Health and Hospice, Groesbeck LTC Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Limestone Medical Center joined together recently to collect and set up much-needed fans for our senior communities. The event lasted from June 18 and went through July 2.

“We appreciate Heights Home Health of Groesbeck and many other community members for your donations, organizers stated, “together we are making our senior citizens cool.”

Groesbeck Lions Club shared the effort as Liz McDaniel merged seniors on the Meals on Wheels program to get the cooling assisted they needed as a result of the event earnings. McDaniel delivered fans to people in Tehuacana and Coolidge after the drive.

The final day to collect fans has passed but if you would like to find out more information or learn how to donate to this cause or a future senior citizen cause feel free to contact the following:
