More than 270 people gathered to celebrate First Baptist Church of Groesbeck’s 150th Anniversary, Oct. 23. Sunday festivities included a special worship service, photo booth, history room, and lunch on the lawn.
Mondays, 6-8 p.m. – First Baptist Church of Tehuacana still hosts a knitting/crocheting group in the fellowship hall, making prayer shawls or lap robes for people. The Limestone County Historical Commission held its regular meeting at 6 p. m. on October 4, in the Limestone County Courthouse. Members present were Donald ( Bubba) McDonald, Linda Jordan, Bill Ferris Linda Ferris and William Reagan.
The Groesbeck Study Club had its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, October 18 at the Groesbeck Woman’s Club at 6 p.m. Mary Belle Leach, President welcoming everyone and turned it over to the Hostesses for the evening.
Two award-winning local quilters presented a program on “American Heritage through Quilting” to the members of the Jonathan Hardin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution during a recent meeting The chapter met Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Gibbs Memorial Library in Mexia.
