Jeff and Audrey Cole of ‘Cruising with the Coles’ in Thornton, are the newest members of the Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce. Cruising with the Coles is an independently owned and operated travel company specializing in cruises, land and tour vacations. The Cole’s joined the Award-Winning Travel Agency Company, Cruise Planners, as Franchise Owner in 2021 and today held a ribbon cutting Wednesday, May 18, in honor of their joining the Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce. Their affiliation with Cruise Planners means they now offer travelers exclusive pricing on a wide range of cruise and destination wedding packages, private cruise sales, as well as cabin upgrades and special amenities such as shore excursions, discounted fares, travel gifts and more. The Groesbeck Study Club had their End of the Year Social on Tuesday, May 17 at 6 p.m. at the home of Chris and Julia Morton/ Red Hill Ranch. It was attended by members and guests. Kay Alston gave our invocation. The meal was catered by Billy B’s Sale Barn Café. The Social Committee, Lea Hardison, Peggy Beck, Carol Jenkins, and Cathy Koenig had set it all up and Chris & Julia were so welcoming. What a beautiful place they have. Our meal consisted of Grilled Chicken Breast, Grilled Vegetables, Homemade Rolls, Tea, and Water to drink with Chocolate and Coconut Meringue Pies for dessert. All was delicious. Members of the Groesbeck Study Club attended a special assembly at Groesbeck High School Thursday, May 19 in the school cafeteria to award the Honor Students with a GHS blanket embroidered with their names. The seventeen students who were honored scored a 4.5-grade point average or higher. The top ten graduating seniors were also honored by awarding them with a $1000 scholarship. The valedictorian was awarded a $2000 scholarship.
