Hawkins Park now WiFi hotspot
WiFi connectivity was recently introduced to Hawkins Park to the City of Groesbeck via the sponsorship of the local Farmers State Bank, located across the street from the park gazebo. City and bank officials gathered to celebrate the development, intended for those passing through or students in need of WiFi with a hankering to work outside. Connectivity covers the entire park and portions of the block, so that those interested need only to park and log on. The router is weatherproof. A check totalling $9,000 was presented for the first five years of service for the WiFi.
