The Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce has announced the opening of the Third Annual Christmas Lights Contest. This festive event is open to businesses and residents located within the city limits of Groesbeck.
(l-r) Constanza Alvarado and Mattelyn Hall will be competing in the FFA State preliminary heats this Friday, Dec. 1 at Sam Houston State University. Alvarado advanced in Senior Spanish Creed Speaking and Hall advanced in Senior Creed Speaking. Calvary Baptist Church of Mexia will be offering a very special ‘Surviving The Holidays’ seminar for adults who are having difficulty facing the holidays due to the death of a loved one. ‘Surviving The Holidays’ is a special 2-hour seminar offered through GriefShare, a nondenominational grief support program open to people of all faiths. During the seminar, participants will watch a 40-minute video filled with practical holiday survival tips and the real-life stories of people who have navigated the holiday season following the loss of a loved one. Afterward, participants can participate in a group discussion if so desired. Participants will also receive a personal copy of the GriefShare Holiday Survival Guide in order to take notes and reference in the weeks ahead.
