American Legion Post 288 sponsored coffee and donuts at the Senior Center in Groesbeck on May 11 and had a pretty good turnout. The next one will be on June 8 at 9:00 a.m., location to be announced.
The first annual Chad Walker Memorial Fishing Tournament took place on May 6 and helped to bring in funds for $28,000 in scholarships to Groesbeck High School Seniors.
Saturday, May 20 9 a.m. – Head over Wheels free children’s bike helmet drive and fitting at Parkview Clinic, 514 S. Bonham in Mexia, under the portico. Sponsored by Parkview Regional Hospital and other local health entities.
Every Monday – The Beer Joint hosts a Pool Tournament at 4864 TX-14 in Thorton. Players meet at 7:30 p.m., and the game starts at 8 p.m. – $10 buy-in.
