Community comes together to help Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry

The Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry started about 25 years ago as a door-todoor outreach by members of Groesbeck’s Church on the Rock, giving away donuts, pastries and bread that didn’t sell at the donut shop. It has grown to a twice-monthly service providing about 2,000 pounds of food each time (meat, veggies, canned goods and more) to 45-50 families in need.

Ongoing Events

Mondays, 6-8 p.m. – First Baptist Church of Tehuacana still hosts a knitting/crocheting group in the fellowship hall, making prayer shawls or lap robes for people. Anyone wanting to learn to knit or crochet is invited. There is no cost, and the yarn is provided. For more information, contact Angela Bailey at 409-782-0229.
