How long have you been a Cheerleader? I have been a cheerleader for 6 years now.

What does being a cheerleader mean to you? To me being a cheerleader isn’t about getting to look cute in your uniform on Friday nights, but it’s about becoming part of a family. I love each and every one of my teammates and wouldn’t trade them for the world. They’re the people I know I can always come to and lean on.

What is your favorite pregame food/ritual? One of my favorite pre-game rituals is singing to throwbacks like Taylor Swift on our way to the away games. I know it sounds silly, but it always puts me in a good mood, and gets me ready to cheer!

What do you love most about Cheering and Friday Nights? The thing I love most about Friday nights is after the game, win or lose, we always sing our school song and I’m so Glad. This is such a special moment to me, because I get to sing these songs with my classmates that have become more like family. It makes me so happy to know that no matter the outcome, we are still all one big family that sticks together.

If you were giving advice to other young cheerleaders, what would it be? Don’t take anything for granted and have fun! You never realize how special these moments are until they’re gone, so make the best out of them.

Do you play any other sports or involved in other activities at GHS, if so, what? Other than being a cheerleader, I am also an FFA Officer where I compete in both LDE’s and Public Speaking, a Student Council Officer, as well as a member of FCA and NHS.

Which cheer uniform is your favorite? My favorite cheer uniform would have to be our red ones from last year!

What are you looking forward to the most this last year of High School? I’m looking forward to just spending as much time as I can with my teammates, and classmates before it all comes to an end.

What are your plans after High School? My plans after high school are to possibly attend SFA where I will be studying Pediatric Nursing!

What is your favorite pregame food/ritual? My favorite pregame ritual would have to be that all of us girls on the team listen to music & just jam out before our game.

What do you love most about Game Day? What I love the most about game day is that I have something fun & exciting to look forward to after a whole day of school.

If you were giving advice to other young athletes playing volleyball, what would it be? My advice to younger girls playing volleyball would be to play every game like it’s your last & just have fun because it’ll be over before you know it.

Who is your all-time favorite Volleyball Player (professional college, etc.? I don’t really have a specific volleyball player I favor, but I do love the Baylor volleyball team. I just love watching them play.

Do you participate in other sports and activities at GHS? If so, what are they? Yes, I do participate in other sports at GHS. I participate in basketball & Track.

What are you looking forward to the most this last year of High School? If there was anything specific, I would be looking forward to this year it would be sports. I didn’t realize how fast high school just flies by & the main thing that keeps me going is sports, so I’m just really excited this year about all that. I’m for sure playing every game like it’s my last.

What are your plans after High School? My plans after high school is to attend college. I don’t know which college I would like to go to yet, but I do know I want to go into the medical field & become an RN.

Being down on the field hearing the cheerleaders and the crowd cheering us on, the band playing loud, and being able to be there with all of my teammates fighting to get the win is a feeling like no other.

If you were giving advice to other young athletes playing football, what would it be? Don’t get butt hurt if the coaches are getting on to you, they are only trying to better you.
