#65 Football

How long have you played Football? I have played football for the past 6 years. I began in 2015 when I was in 7th grade and have continued on with this path ever since.

What position do you play? I play a quick-side guard. I’m usually located on the left side in between the center and tackle but it can change depending on our formations.

What is your favorite pregame food/ritual? My usual pre-game meal includes going to Subway after my 6th period and ordering my usual, 6-inch Steak and Cheese with chips and a Gatorade. I also love getting into my truck after I finish my meal and blasting music that gets me excited about the game. I like to daydream about certain scenarios that could possibly occur during the game, making me even more energetic than before.

What do you love most about football and Friday Nights? There’s so much about Friday Nights that I could talk about, but the part I love most is being on the field with my brothers and favorite coaches. The amount of happiness I get from being in front of the stands full of parents and students, standing alongside my teammates while I wait to charge into the middle of the field for my offensive series is something not many get to experience, but I’m lucky to have been given the chance to play for this team for the past 6 years.

If you were giving advice to other young athletes playing football, what would it be? My advice for young athletes would be to play hard, but make sure you enjoy it. Football sometimes isn’t for everyone and that’s okay, but the ones that truly enjoy it will give it their all in practice and the games, hot or cold, energetic or tired. You just have to love the game.

Do you play any other sports or involved in other activities at GHS, if so, what? Alongside football, I participate in track as well as Student Council, National Honor Society, UIL Spelling, and running for class president again.

Who is your favorite college or NFL Team? My favorite college team is Baylor. Since I was in 5th grade, I’ve grown up with the idea of going to Baylor, making me have a deeper connection with the team and school than most others.

What are you looking forward to the most this last year of High School? This year, I am looking forward to finishing my final year to the best of my abilities. I want to give it my all this year, even more than the last. My teammates, coaches, and I have put in so much time and effort this past year for this season which makes it even more special for all of us.

What are your plans after High School? I plan to attend college, preferably Baylor, and major in sports medicine. I want to graduate to become a sports medicine therapist where I would like to live in the Waco area, still being close to family and friends.

How long have you played football? My whole life.

What position do you play? Inside linebacker, tight end, wide receiver

What is your favorite pre-game food/ritual? The team gets together in the field house and eats together. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite but that’s what we have always done.

What do you love most about football and Friday Nights? My favorite is the atmosphere. Being out on that spiels with my brothers is a feeling that you can’t get from anything else.

If you were giving advice to other young athletes playing football, what would it be?

Play every down like it’s your last, you never know when it’s going to be over.

Do you play any other sports or involved in other activities at GHS, if so, what?

Who is your favorite college or NFL team? My favorite college team is Texas A&M and my favorite NFL team is the Cowboys.

What are you looking forward to the most this last year of High School? Seeing how far we make it in Football and finally getting out of GHS.

What are your plans after High School? I plan to play football at the next level and become a large animal vet.

How long have you been a cheerleader? This is my 6th year being a cheerleader.

What does being a cheerleader mean to you? To me being a cheerleader means being able to show school spirit, having GOAT PRIDE and being a leader for the school.

What is your favorite pregame food/ritual? I enjoy, on away games, sitting down with my squad, laughing and having fun while eating. What do you love most

What do you love most about cheering and Friday nights? My favorite thing about Friday nights is getting the crowd pumped up and cheering on the boys.

If you were giving advice to other young cheerleaders, what would it be? My advice would be to never give up and always have a positive attitude.

Do you play any other sports or involved in other activities at GHS, if so, what? This year I am focusing on cheer, but I have played on the varsity tennis team the last 3 years. I am also involved in FFA and FCA. Which cheer uniform is your

Which cheer uniform is your favorite? My favorite uniform is the white uniform from my freshman and sophomore year.

What are you looking forward to the most of the last year of high school? I am looking forward to experiencing all of the “lasts” with my classmates. I am just blessed to even have this opportunity to cheer.
