In keeping with social distancing regulations, a set number of pre-sale tickets were sold earlier in the week. Currently, there are an extra 139 tickets to sell on the visitor side to any of our fans that were not able to purchase a ticket for the home side at the normal ticket purchase times.  These tickets will be available to purchase at the gate.

The home Goat vs. rice game broadcast team includes Sue Waller on the action camera, Robert Storms on the mixer, stationary cameras, and graphics, Teresa Battrick as the graphic designer, Diana Freeman as a spotter, Dayne Duncan as play commentator, and Superintendent Dr. James Cowley as the play by play announcer.

Groesbeck Superintendent, Dr. James Cowley reported recently in the seventh installment of Word from the Herd how social distancing and masks are required and what game spectators can expect when attending all games.

Those rules/expectations are as follows:

- You must wear a face-covering as you come into the stadium/gym.

- Chairs with a blue “x” are to be left empty to maintain the social distance that is required by UIL guidelines and regulations.

- Seats that are unmarked are open to spectators.

- Once seated you can remove your face cover, if you leave your seat, you must wear your face-covering.

Fans must abide by these rules and regulations. If social distancing and mask coverings rules are not followed it could result in the forfeiture of the game for the players.

Below you can find the guidelines laid out by UIL for Football Reminders for face coverings and spectators:

As we continue into fall seasons, it is critical that schools are diligent in following these risk-mitigation guidelines. Schools are still required to follow Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-29 related to face coverings. Schools may allow spectators to attend contests up to a maximum of 50% of a venue’s capacity, provided appropriate spacing as prescribed in the guidelines is maintained. UIL has posted some sample pre-game and public address announcements online that schools may use to help remind spectators of the guidelines to be followed.

Schools not following these guidelines are subject to sanctions, including suspension of contests or discontinuation of public access to games, by the local UIL District Executive Committee and/or UIL State Executive Committee.

Points of Emphasis from Executive Order GA-29 concerning Face Coverings: All employees, parents, visitors, and students ten years of age or older must wear face coverings or face shields upon entry to an area where UIL activities are being conducted and when not actively practicing or playing in the contest, unless an exception listed below applies.

Exceptions: When a congregating group of persons maintains at least 6 feet of social distancing; or Any other reason or circumstance indicated under the executive order.

Coaches should have face coverings on at all times unless they fall under one of the exceptions. Players not actively participating in a contest should have face coverings on at all times unless they fall under one of the exceptions. Parents, visitors, spectators, and students should have face coverings on at all times unless they fall under one of the exceptions.
