Goats win over Rice at home, 45-14

Groesbeck took a half-time lead of 26-0 over the Rice Bulldogs as the Goats overcame a sluggish start and a bunch of penalties. Mac'quay Smith ran for 2 scores.
Groesbeck ran its season record to 2-0 with a 45-14 pasting of the Rice Bulldogs. Mac'quay Smith ran in three touchdowns covering 6, 6, and 50 yards. Kache Bagley intercepted a Rice pass late in the second quarter and returned it for a 70-yard touchdown. Alan Lewis threw touchdown passes to Tyson Pringle for 21 yards and to Arturo Sotelo for 40 yards Rice scored twice in the fourth quarter to avoid the shutout.
