Local Youth Competes in NCHA World Finals

Madison Melasky of Groesbeck recently qualified for and competed in the National Cutting Horse Association World Finals held at Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth. Madison hauled all over the United States this past year, compiling 109 points in the Senior Youth division of the NCHA. Only the Top 15 in the World standings were invited to compete in the Finals. When all was finished, Madison finished 3rd in the World Standings. She would like to thank the following people for their support and encouragement; Casey Crouch (trainer), Jeff and Annie Melasky, Jack and Patricia Mauldin, Russ and Debbie deCordova and Kim Meyer/Dick Scott Ford.

While at Youth Week in Fort Worth, Madison received the Platinum Award, which is the second highest level awarded in the L.E.A.P. Program. LEAP stands for Levels of Excellence Award Program, which recognizes a members’ successes and contributions both inside and outside of the cutting arena.

Madison also competes in the Amateur Division of the NCHA, and is currently in 3rd place of the $15,000 Limited Division. The Top 15 in the World Standings will compete during the World Finals held in conjunction with the NCHA Futurity this December in Fort Worth.
