Sessions talks to Groesbeck Chamber

Pete Sessions, who is a candidate for United States House as a Representative for District 17, was the guest speaker for the February meeting of the Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce, on Thursday, February 13, at the Groesbeck Convention Center.

The meeting was held at noon hour, and various members of the Chamber of Commerce provided a variety of delicious homemade soups for the meal.

Joan McEntyre, Chamber president, presided. She introduced the speaker. She also reminder the audience of the Heritage Festival which will be held in Groesbeck on May 29, 30 and 31.

In his talk to the Groesbeck Chamber, Sessions expressed his concern for this country. In his remarks Sessions praised the work of President Donald Trump. He also stressed the value of a balanced budget for the United States. He also stated that he had strived to make things better for veterans.

During his talk to the Groesbeck Chamber, Sessions answered several important questions which were asked by members of the audience. He also stressed the importance of a safe and secured southern border.

Given below are a few facts about Pete Sessions and his career. Sessions was born and raised in Waco. He is a graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and served on the Board of Trustees of that school for several years.

He has served as an AT&T Executive, and he was a U. S. Congressman from 1996 to 2018. He is an Eagle Scout, a member of the National Eagle Scout Association, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and the Texas State Rifle Association, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waco. He is an Honorary Rotarian.

Early in his career as a Congressman, Sessions served the Limestone County area for a time. Sessions is one of 15 Republican candidates seeking the Republican nomination for U. S. Representative District 17. Three Democrats are seeking the Democratic nomination for U. S. Representative District 17.
