Many prayers were answered in Limestone County early on this Monday morning when the long-awaited rains finally came to some very dry areas. It is understood that the could receive rains for several days. A very big “thanks” for this wonderful moisture!

The total rainfall for the Month of August 2018 was .55” making the total for the year of 2018 a whopping 16.8.

Please remember to be eligible to vote in the November 6th general election, one, if not already registered to vote, must register by Tuesday, October 9. One may register to vote in the County Elections Administrator’s Office which is located on the ground floor of the Limestone County Courthouse.

Many class reunions will be held during the homecoming weekend of September 14-15. Watch for those announcements. Given below are reminders of three of these reunions.

The Groesbeck High School Class of 1953 will celebrate its 65th-year reunion. The 1953 class will have tables reserved at the HC barbecue on Saturday and will visit and have lunch together. The Groesbeck High School Class of 1963 will meet after the HC Barbecue on Saturday, Sept. 15. The Class of 1963 will gather in the meeting room of Quality Inn, 1012 N. Ellis, Groesbeck. The GHS Classes of 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959 will have a six-class reunion in the Club Room of the Groesbeck Convention Center on HC Saturday following the homecoming barbecue. The reunion will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. All friends, schoolmates, and relatives are cordially invited.
