The Groesbeck Homecoming appeared to be one of the best ever. Large crowds of folks were at most events. The HC parade was, perhaps, was one of the largest ever.

Stories and photos of homecoming will appear in this week’s Journal, and, perhaps, in next week’s Journal also.

Mark it on your calendars that the citywide garage sale will be on Saturday, October 6.

Several comments were made to this writer praising the Limestone County Historical Museum. Some folks visited the Museum during homecoming and were quite impressed with the collections pertaining to Limestone County history. The Museum is opened each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Museum is located on West Navasota Street in downtown Groesbeck.

Speaking of homecoming the Groesbeck Goat football team got the weekend off to a great start with its 70 to 0 victory over the Marlin Bulldogs. Several Goat players were named in the Central Texas Honor Roll in the sports section of the Sunday edition of the Waco Tribune-Herald. The Goats are now 3-0 on the season.

This writer also heard several comments complimenting the show of the Groesbeck High School Band.

Chris Henson, Groesbeck City Administrator and Police Chief, was the speaker for the Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce meeting last Thursday at noon. He addressed the state of  Groesbeck and gave some very importance observations and suggestions for the city. Thanks, Chris, for a very good and informative talk.

Another reminder to make sure you are registered to vote in the November 6th election. The last day to register to vote to be eligible to vote in the Nov. 6th election is Tuesday, October 9. One may registered to in the County Elections Administrator’s office in the Limestone County Courthouse.
