City Council gets positive audit report

The Groesbeck City Council was pleased to receive a positive audit report from Don Altman at their meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 21. Altman commended City Administrator Chris Henson, City Secretary Brenda Jackson, and other city staff who provided him with the necessary information for the audit, and went on to explain several figures and findings from the 59-page report, which detailed city finances for the period ending Sept. 30, 2022.

Authorities took a man into custody about 10:05 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, following nearly a 21-hour standoff at Limestone Medical Center.

The standoff began about 1:30 p.m. Thursday when Adam “Skinner” Lenamond, 73, of Groesbeck, drove to LMC with a firearm. He remained in his vehicle, threatening to shoot himself, according to Sgt. Ryan Howard of the Department of Public Safety.
