Lady Goats end season as bi-district finalist
Last week was bittersweet for the Groesbeck Lady Goats softball team as they ended their season at the hands of Little River-Academy, 11-2 and 12-4.
But the Lady Goats gave the Lady Bees more than they could handle, especially in game two (played here in Groesbeck last Friday night) of their best of three first round playoff series.
Groesbeck came out relaxed and fired up as they broke out the scoring in the first inning with a run.
With two outs, Haylie Mitchell took five pitches to get on board with a walk, followed by a single by Sydney Beldin, putting runners at first and second. Abby Johnson singled to left and Mitchell rounded third and headed for home for the score to make it 1-0.
