Groesbeck Lions Club to have 19th annual Car Show on Sat., May 20; also having gun raffle
The Groesbeck Lions Club will be sponsoring its 19th annual Groesbeck Lions Club Car Show on Saturday, May 20, at the Groesbeck City Park during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Lions Club is also having a raffle for a rifle with the drawing for the gun to be held during the car show.
The Groesbeck Lions Club Car Show is always a very popular event and is very well attended. The car show along with two gun raffles which are held each year are the sources of income for numerous special Lions Club projects which provide much help to the community and its people. The club has a spring raffle with the drawing held at car show and a fall raffle with the drawing held at the last Groesbeck Goat home football game.
A key project of the Lions Club of the local club is to help local students with vision problems. Each year, the Groesbeck Lions Club buys glasses and pays for eye examinations for numerous students in the Groesbeck Independent School District. The club provides scholarships for high school seniors.
