County memorial recalls fallen officers
Law enforcement officers from across Limestone County as well as members of the public gathered at the courthouse for the 10th annual Peace Officer Memorial Friday, May 19.
Most prominent were Limestone County Sheriff’s Office personnel, including Sheriff Dennis Wilson, Chief Deputy Murray Agnew and many deputies. Also well represented were Groesbeck Police Officers, including Chief Chris Henson. Mexia Police officers were there, too, including Chief Richard Hawthorne and several of his officers.
Patrol Capt. Lee Cox was emcee for the ceremony, welcoming those present and introducing those who were part of the program as the ceremony progressed. Stacy Duffield sang the national anthem to open the ceremony, and Sgt. Jason Ash gave an opening prayer.
