Linda Flatt speaks to local Lions Club on Bird Watching
The Groesbeck Lions Club heard a very interesting presentation on bird watching at its meeting on May 17. Linda Flatt of Mexia was the speaker, and she was introduced by Kathy Jackson, the May program chairman.
Linda stated she started bird watching in 1988, and she pointed out that she had always had strong interest in observing birds and their particular habits.
The speaker stated that she was associated with a Texas Birders group. She discussed various techniques of bird watching. She also told of the various equipment used in bird watching such as the proper binoculars used in this activity.
In her talk Linda discussed the birds of Texas and told of areas where a particular bird might be seen. She added, “Bird watching is a growing hobby in Texas.”
