Lions Club Car Show
By Tom Hawkins
The 19th annual Groesbeck Lions Club Car Show was once again a big success in spite of potential rain and threatening weather.
The Car Show was held at the Groesbeck City Park on this past Saturday. Due to the rain on Friday night and the possibility of threatening weather early Saturday morning only 26 cars and trucks were entered into the show. However, the number included some very attractive and unique vehicles.
The revenue from the Car Show helps to finance many community projects sponsored by the Lions Club.
Several awards were given at the end of the Car Show.
The Lions Club gave a special awards this year. It was the George A. Humble Memorial Best of Show Award. Mr. Humble was a longtime Lion and was instrumental in starting the Car Show nineteen years ago. The Humble award went to Mike Dartez for his Ford Falcon Ranchero. The George A. Humble award will be given each year.
