Groesbeck Lions Club hears talk by Master Gardener; big program, June 7
The Groesbeck Lions Club heard a talk by Glenn Hullum of the Limestone County Gardeners on Wednesday. May 24. The meeting also included a report on the successful Lions Club Car Show which was held on Saturday, May 20.
Kathy Jackson, the program chairman for May, introduced Glenn Hullum of the Limestone County Master Gardeners.
Hullum explained the Master Gardener program in Limestone County. One must be a resident of the County and go through a trading program. The group meets once a month.
The Limestone County Master Gardeners have done volunteer work at various places in the County including Hawkins Park, the Limestone County Sheriff’s Department, Old Fort Parker, the Confederate Reunion Grounds as well as other places in the county. The group has also presented teaching programs at the schools.
In his talk Hullum also addressed water conservation and irrigation.
