You are an 8 Cow Wife
You are not useless or a failure. As God’s perfect work, you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps. 139:14). If you are a Christian, you are Christ’s flawless radiant bride (Eph. 5:27). In fact, you are an 8 cow wife! According to the marriage custom on a certain south Pacific island, a young man seeking a wife must give his bride’s father cows in exchange for her hand in marriage. The bartering occurs based on the value of the young bride, and determines the number of cows to be paid for her. The groom, and all the village, come to the father’s house, where the arrangement is negotiated, with the whole village as witnesses. The average bride is worth 2 cows, or perhaps 3, if she is exceptionally smart or pretty. Well, the story goes that the most handsome and wealthy bachelor living among the string of islands was Johnny Lingo. Imagine the-excitement among the island women, when Johnny announced one day that he had selected a wife. Johnny shocked everyone, when he revealed his choice was Leila.
