Boyd shines at all-star baseball game in Round Rock
ROUND ROCK – It was a very busy week of baseball for 2017 Groesbeck graduate Chandler Boyd. It began in Waco last Monday and culminated Father’s Day weekend at Dell Diamond.
Boyd began last week playing in the Central Texas All-Star game at Veteran’s Field in Waco, where he led off the bottom of the seventh with a double. Two batters later, he scored the game-winning run in a 5-4 win for the North team. Saturday, he switched sides, playing for the South team in the 44th Annual Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game.
Two games were played and teams were comprised of players selected by the THSBCA from state wide nominations. Boyd was nominated by Groesbeck head baseball coach Cameron Sellstrom and played in the 2A-4A game. The 5A-6A game followed.
