Groesbeck Summer track team back in action this past weekend in McGregor
After getting rained out the weekend of June 24th, the Groesbeck Summer Track team wasted little time in picking up where they left off from the Franklin Meet back on June 17.
This past weekend, the team competed at the McGregor Meet with lots of first place medals brought back home.
In running events, Aidan Ray took first in the 50-meter dash, C.J. Henderson, Mateo Spivey, Mahoganie Washington and Ray all finished in the gold in the 100-meter dash in their age divisions.
In the 200-meter dash, Ma’Qua Smith, Washington and Detrick Smith took first-place finishes in each of their races and Ombry Jones brought back a first-place medal in the 400-meter dash.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Jones, Henderson, Smith and Trent Platt continue to do an outstanding job as they placed second overall at the McGregor Meet.

50-meter dash - Aiden Ray, first-place; Ke’Naijah Smith, second-place.
100-meter dash - C.J. Henderson, first-place; Mateo Spivey, first-place; Mahoganie Washington, first-place; Detrick Smith, first-place; Aidan Ray, first-place; Dylan Rhodes, second-place; Ke’Naijah Smith, second-place; Trent Platt, second-place; Keithan Davis, third-place; Ma’Qua Smith, fourth-place.
