Tom’s Topics

By Tom Hawkins

The people of Limestone County had a very pleasant surprise early Monday morning with a very nice July rain. As history will tell you, it is always nice to have a good rain in July.

In last week’s Tom’s Topics yours truly predicted a rain on or before July 9th with the prediction almost being right on target.

Here’s another rain prediction for this coming Sunday or Monday.

Groesbeck had a very nice 4th of July celebration. Hats off to all of the organizations, businesses, and individuals who participated. The streets were really packed for the July 4th parade.

The Journal continues to receive good comments about the Journal’s 125 year celebration. Journal readers really enjoyed the special section on the Journal’s history.

Yours truly, really enjoyed the very first “Journal Jabber” column in last week’s Journal. The column is written by Jennifer Paul, general manager of the Journal. Jennifer, I am looking forward to this week’s “Journal Jabber.”
