Goats Cross Country continues success at Gatesville Meet
Groesbeck’s cross-country team competed at the Gatesville Meet last week, with the varsity girls finishing in fifth out of 13 teams competing; the junior varsity girls’ team took second place out of 12 teams competing; the varsity boys placed eighth out of 13 teams in their race and the JV boys gave their competitors strong competition.
In the varsity girl’s race, Willow Johnson came in 10th out of 110 runners with her time of 13:56, Brianna Dobson brought home a medal with her 13th place finish. She had a time of 13:57. Also competing for the Groesbeck girls were Genesis Hibbard, Emily Miera, Jasmine Mora, Rylie Goodman and Dani Veneers.
The JV girl’s field of runners had a total of 149 athletes competing. Raigen Archer came in third place with her time of 15:19, Maci Bozeman took the eighth spot in a time of 15:49, Alivia Johnson crossed in behind her in ninth with a time of 15:57 and Jaedi Goodman made the top 20 in 15th place with a time of 16:08. Also competing for the Groesbeck JV girls were Genny McNeely, Gabby Saldivar and Kaitlyn Truett.
