Thornton Senior News
A cheery group of Senior Citizens gathered together for their Thanksgiving lunch and those enjoying the gathering were Ernestine Audd, Raye Spivey, Bobbie Reynolds, Elizabeth Neason, Sue Wood, Ann Carr, Linda Taylor, Wayne Sharp, Helen Harvey, Alma McCurry, Glenda Gambini, Fonetta Simmons, Ella Stanizewski, Victoria Diaz, Janice Bilbrey, Tammy Ramsey, Texas Home Health Coordinator and Jane Carpenter. We enjoyed the turkey and dressing, chocolate chip cookies from Sue Wood and two buttermilk pies that I had promised them that I would bring.
Tammy was taking blood pressures for everyone. Some reported good and some not so good.
We welcome her and appreciate her coming. She also helped Sue Wood and Ann Carr with the Bingo games and had brought some nice prizes to be given away to the winners.
Winners were Linda Taylor 2 games, Helen Harvey, Wayne Sharp 2 games, Glenda Gambini and Jane Carpenter 1 game together, and the blackout went to Wayne Sharp and Jane Carpenter. Everyone had fun at bingo.
We were glad to welcome Victoria Diaz as she is a new resident of Thornton and we hope she will come and join us again.
Thanks goes to Central Baptist Church for meeting place and to Joe Neason for our ice weekly. Good to hear that Joe is doing much better. Linda Watson is home from the nursing home.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable Thanksgiving with family and friends. We have so much to be thankful for. We hope to see all of you back on Thursday, Nov. 30th for cranberry chicken, corn, beets, and mixed fruit.
