Shepherd Sayings December 14, 2017

By Pastor Jack Wren, Kosse Baptist Church

John the Baptist burst on the Judean scene preaching, “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is near.” (Matthew 3:2) To repent is to make a radical change in your life.

Do you want to be close to God and have Him live in you as both Savior and Lord? Then repent and turn your life around.

There is no way for God to live in us if we spend half our time living for self and evil.

What does God want you to change in your life? For some it might be to stop cursing and lying, while others need to stop stealing and gossiping.

Some homes, ruled by anger and deceit need to radically change. Obviously, there are churches that need to change and live by faith and not by sight.

A man confessed to his friend, “I have too much religion or not enough religion. I must either give up what I have or get more. I have too much religion to enjoy the evil of the world. But I do not have enough religion to enjoy living for Jesus.”

He solved his problem by turning from his way of life. This man received Jesus as “SAVIOR” and “LORD”. His decision ended the life of divided loyalty and doubtful obedience.

Father in Heaven, help us see our sin and straying. Work in us the desire for You and Your way in our lives. Amen!
