Groesbeck Academic All State

More accolades were bestowed upon Groesbeck athletes as the Texas High School Coaches Association recently released their selections for the Academic All-State team.

Making the list were Groesbeck Goat varsity football players Myles McGruder, Dusty Roberts, Brayden Bradley, Landon Frazier and manager Wyatt Price.

McGruder, Bradley, Price and Roberts were named to the academic all-state second team, while Frazier received honorable mention.

From the cross-country team, three athletes made the list with Alivia Johnson named to the academic all-state first team and both Trey Hicks and Traetin Turrubiarte receiving honorable mention.

According to the THSCA website, to be nominated for academic all-state, students must be an athlete, student trainer or manager in good standing with the team, of good moral character, a senior and have an overall grade point average of 92 or above, including courses from grades 9-11 and courses completed from grade 12 - Weighted GPAs accepted. Athletes were nominated by their head coaches.
